About Us
Australian Drug Education & Consultancy
Australian Drug Education & Consultancy, founded in 2014, was formed by three great mates.
With specialist drug and harm reduction knowledge, and counselling and trauma informed care expertise, we wanted to offer the sector something different. To deliver workshops, which are contemporary, bespoke and to your service, that are hands-on, interactive, with ‘real’ conversations.
Our Objectives
Hold a safe, inclusive and culturally secure learning space.
Provide contemporary education and training, to develop and strengthen the skills and practice, of drug and alcohol, mental health, community service, school education, first responders, justice, mining safety and wellbeing workers.
Work in partnership with key stakeholders, to develop and implement harm reduction initiatives, to reduce drug related harms and deaths in our community.
Subject matter expert ‘consultancy’ on drugs and harm reduction.
Our Vision
We hold an unshakeable belief in the resilience of our shared clients, and hold hope that building a workforce, which is trauma aware, compassionate and curious, will cultivate safety, wellbeing, connection and healing in our community.
Acknowledgement
We honour and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, as the rightful Custodians of Country.
We pay respects to Elders past and present, and to their continued care for song lines and the land and waterways on which we work and live.
Meet Our Team
Grace Oh
Director
Grace is a passionate and well-recognised advocate in the Australian alcohol and other drug sector. Known for her tenacity and clear calls to action, she is committed to preventing overdose deaths and advancing innovative harm reduction strategies.
Since 2021, Grace has served as the Council Member for Western Australia, on the Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD). She was also the inaugural recipient of the APSAD Advocacy Award, which recognised her leadership and impact in the field.
You will likely hear Grace championing drug checking, safer festival environments, and increased naloxone access; naloxone will almost certainly come up more than once! Outside of work, she brings that same energy volunteering with the State Emergency Service (SES), playing ultimate frisbee and facilitating labyrinths, reflecting a curiosity and enthusiasm that carries across all areas of her life.
Mark Lowery
Director
Mark entered the alcohol and other drug field later in life, bringing more than 25 years of arcane experience to roles spanning counselling, therapeutic group work, and leadership as CEO of Western Australia’s largest Needle and Syringe Program. His work is grounded in a strong commitment to addressing stigma, trauma, and harm reduction, both with people who use drugs and the broader community.
Building on this foundation, Mark transitioned into workforce development, where he designs and delivers training and leads peer-based initiatives. He often acknowledges the mentors who have shaped his practice, viewing his training work as a way of giving back and sharing the clinical wisdom and expertise generously passed on to him.
Alongside his professional work, Mark brings a genuine warmth and humanity to his practice; his stories typically involve his dogs and the simple, mutual care and oxytocin exchange close to his heart.
